Identically Different | at Pluie d’Images in Brest
January 14, 2019Happy to be invited to display my series ‘Identically Different’ on the 14th edition of Photo Festival Pluie d’Images in Brest, France, from January 19th to March 1st 2019.
This year’s festival focusses on the theme ‘Otherness’.
‘With this theme of otherness it is inevitable to approach the notion of identity and its relation to the other, to others. Our identity is based on a relationship, and it is though communication that this confrontation can take place. The coexistence of identities is only possible by a reciprocal recognition of particularities, cultures, languages and contexts, in order to recognize and accept the other person in its difference, whether it’s ethnic, social, cultural, religious, sexual or linguistic. The festival is based on this principle of diversity and otherness.’
